kendra's hair weave
The goal of having long, strong hair can be achieved. There are a number of treatments and regimes that can help your hair to get there, however there is one very important aspect that must be taken into account in order to make success more attainable. What is it, you ask? Loving the hair you were born with! With the number of "tortures" many of us have subjected our hair to, it's a miracle that we have any hair left at all. With the dominance of weaving techniques in the beauty industry, neglecting our God-given hair has become commonplace for many. We've talked to many sisters that have literally hidden their hair away under a weave or wig for so long, and feel the damage to their natural hair is so severe that they have just given up on it and sworn allegiance to hair weaves for life. But it doesn't necessarily have to go down like that.

We love weave styles and the creativity they afford. However, what's going on under it all is important. Here at the Hair Weave Blogspot we like to support safe weaving techniques and healthy hair-care regimes that benefit your natural hair. You are beautiful, and your hair deserves to be so as well, whether you weave it or not. If you want added length today, go for it...add a few tracks. Just remember to go the extra mile with your hair-care regime to keep your natural hair healthy.

Start by loving your hair. Even if it is damaged, you can improve its condition. All it takes are the right products, consistency, and patience.

nurture your real hair with regular shampoos infused with conditioning treatments. The way you
handle your hair when it's wet is crucial, it's in its weakest state. Make sure to massage your hair carefully ing. Check your fingernails and make sure that they are filed smoothly so that they don't snag your hair each and every time you shampoo. While shampooing, think about some of the common ways to expose your "so fresh and so clean" hair to on the regular.

Will you be blasting it How dryer? How about straightening and smoothing it with a flat iron? Or are you going for worlds hottest curling iron? Before any of it, prep the hair with a conditioning treatment, which will help to save the hair and counter the negative effects of heating appliances.

To keep your long style healthy ask your stylist about deep conditioners.

Classic Weave Hair Styles of Janet Jackson

To achieve the "Bun ponytail" hair weave similar to Janet Jackson's, start with clean weave hair. Pull your own hair back into a ponytail and secure it with a rubber band. Take the weaving hair and put a bobby pin into the weft at the end of the weft of the weaving hair. The secure the bobby pin under the rubber band on your head. Continue to wrap the weaving hair around the rubber band on your head, securing every few wraps with a bobby pin. Once your final weft is secured, split the weaving hair in four parts. Take one of the parts and wrap it around the base of the pony tail. Continue that with all of the four parts, securing in place with bobby pins.

Hair Weave Maintenance

Hair Weave Maintenance

One of the first questions patrons ask me after receiving a full head weave it: "how to I maintain my weave". The answer to this question will astound you...you maintain your weave the same way you do your own hair! That's right, hair weave maintenance is just that simple.

Wash your hair and weave hair about once a week with a mild shampoo and conditioner. Brush the weave hair lightly while it is wet and feel free to use a leave in conditioner on your weave in hair and your own hair. For a sleek look, blow dry your weave in hair the same as you would your own hair. Then flat iron your hair and your weave hair (if that is the style you are going for).

And, last but not least, don't forget the finishing spray. Use the finishing spray sparingly.

At night don't for get to either pin curl your weave hair and your own hair or curl, and cover with a satin bonnet.

Hair Weave Tutorial

For instructions on how to create a gorgeous hair weave effect, often professionals will attend a heave weave conference or class. However, some hair weave specialists will also ask a friend to teach them how to create a hair weave. Most people just watch their hair care professional give someone else a weave in order to learn how to properly apply a hair weave.

Proper hair weave application starts with a clean head of hair. Most importantly, remember to dry the hair. If you would like your hair weave to look very natural, you will want to mold the hair first. This means that after washing and conditioning the hair, you will apply hair gel. Then wrap the hair around the head.

After the hair is COMPLETELY dry, then you can measure the weaving hair's weft and cut at the desired length. Once the weaving hair is cut, apply glue to the weft of the cut hair weave. Then apply the hair to the scalp. Continuing the above instructions until all of the required hair weave is applied.

Easy Steps for Glue in Hair Weave

Step 1. This customer has been prepared for a hair weave by washing the hair, combing the hair to the back and drying under a hair dryer so that the hair is flat and ready for a hair weave.

Step 2. We measure the weave in hair across the head and cut the weave hair's weft to the size that is appropriate.

Step 3. We place a small amount of hair weave glue on the weft of the weave hair and then attach the weave hair to the customer's hair.

Step 4. We curl and style the weave hair.

You can see that the weave hair creates a gloriously stylish effect.

Once styled, the weave hair can be worn in many different ways.

Hair Weaves

There seems to be a lot of concern about whether or not hair weaves are "selling out"

When done correctly hair weaves are enhancers. That's all. No one is making any great political statement by getting a hair weave. Sorry, but hair weaves are fun and they actually help protect the hair.

3 Don’ts for Processed Weave Hair

Don’t ever relax your hair yourself. I see so much damage due to over-processing because product is being applied to hair that is already relaxed. This leads to dry brittle, fragile hair that eventually breaks. Don’t get your weave hair relaxed too often. This also leads to over processing. Don’t apply relaxer and permanent color on the same day.

Although I recommend professional relaxer applications, I understand that everyone can’t afford a stylist. Get a girlfriend to do it for you. It’s almost impossible to relax your own hair and keep the relaxer off hair that’s already been processed and only relax the new growth. If you think that some overlapping may happen, apply conditioner to the previously relaxed hair to coat it and help prevent damage.

Wait at leas 6 to 8 weeks to relax your new growth. If it’s looking a little rough, use a pressing comb to straighten the new growth. Press only the areas that will be seen, like you’re edges and along any part. Not only will this keep your hair healthier, but you’ll keep the fullness that’s sometimes lost when it’s freshly relaxed.

Always wait a week or so after relaxing to use a permanent color. Rinses are okay to use even on the day of your relaxer. Remember to color only the hair that hasn’t been treated before unless you are changing hair colors.

70% of women relax their weave hair every 8 weeks.

Using some of the natural healers can help keep your hair weave fresh and healthy. While herbal remedies have long been associated curing everything from the common cold nd physical ailments to cleansing the body and managing stress, herbs also have a stimulating and medicinal affect on the hair and scalp. When using herbs for the hair, it’s essential to keep several key factors in mind. Don’t dismay if a herbal remedy requires the use of dried herbs. Instead, simply use triple the amount of fresh herbs. If the ingredients require fresh herbs and you’ve only got dried herbs in the cabinet, use only one-third of the suggested amount.

The Difference Between Cornrowing Hair and Braiding

When we see a delightfully intricate hair design, we are often fascinated. Most likely the design has taken hours to complete. But, as an onlooker, it is difficult for us to determine where the design begins and ends. To us, it often simply looks like a very beautifully crafted work of art. As a stylist, one of the questions that I get the most is, “What is the difference between cornrowing hair and braiding hair?”

Do you know the difference between cornrowing and braiding? If not, don’t sweat it. Because most people do not know the difference between cornrowing hair and braiding hair.

Basically, the difference is a slight one in that cornrowing IS braiding (often called plaiting), but a braid is not always a cornrow. Lol. Don’t worry if I have confused you, let me clear this up…cornrowing is braiding the hair close to the scalp in a continuous design…like a row of corn. Get it?!

When someone says, “I’m going to get individual braids”, generally the hair is sectioned into less than 1 inch sections and braided away from the scalp. So the braider would section the hair starting at the scalp, then continue the braid away from the head.
